About Paul McPherson

Paul has spent his adult life as a photographer.

For over a decade he photographed for catalogs and worked as a professional advertising photographer.

Paul has always enjoyed photographing weddings and has been shooting them since the mid-eighties. Weddings have always been one of the more challenging aspects of photography for Paul, and also one of the most rewarding. He has a love for working with people and wedding photography is the perfect venue for that very reason.

Paul has worked as a full-time professional wedding photographer in Columbus, Ohio, and in Des Moines, Iowa. In 2009, he moved with his wife to the Chicago area to continue wedding photography in the Windy City. Paul now photographs weddings in both Chicago and Des Moines.

Paul is also a photography instructor and enjoys teaching the joy of photography to others. He taught photography to hundreds of students in Columbus and at  the Des Moines Art Center in Iowa.

One of Paul’s passions while in Ohio had been whitewater kayaking in the nearby rapids of West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Iowa is not known for its whitewater, so Paul  traded his kayak for a canoe and explored the many Iowa rivers that meander through the state. His constant companion, a Springer spaniel, has also enjoyed these river exploits along with Paul’s wife and photo assistant, Darcy. Paul is looking forward to exploring new rivers and natural areas in Illinois.
